Monday 24 September:

Christmas 2007:
BBC One - Voyage Of The Damned (60 minutes)
The Sarah Jane Adventures' broadcast schedule will be covered as part
of This Week In Doctor Who. The ten 25 minute episodes will premiere
on BBC One Mondays at 5PM BST starting 24 September, and repeat on
the CBBC Channel. Just 16 days till the next Doctor Who spinoff
begins its weekly run.
The BBC has announced the future plans for Doctor Who through 2010.
Previously announced:
Christmas 2007 - 1 hour episode, starring David Tennant and Kylie
Minogue
Spring 2008 - Series 4, 13 episodes, starring David Tennant and
Catherine Tate (with Freema Agyeman in 5 episodes)
Newly announced:
Christmas 2008 - 1 hour episode, starring David Tennant
2009 - 3 Specials, starring David Tennant
Spring 2010 - Series 5, 13 episodes
This announcement guarantees that the current version of Doctor Who
will continue for at least 3 more years, by which time it will have
amassed 72 episodes. It guarantees that David Tennant continues as
the Doctor through at least 2009. It also means that we will see a
bit less of the Doctor in 2009 only. We do not know when the specials
will air or how long these episodes will be.
CBC TV Canada http://www.cbc.ca/television has scheduled a 2 hour
finale for Doctor Who Series 3. The Sound Of Drums and Last Of The
Time Lords will air from 8PM to 10PM on Monday 24 September. Last Of
The Time Lords will probably be the edited international version,
though hopefully the full 51 1/2 minute version will go on
http://www.cbc.ca/doctorwho afterwards as part of their streaming
episodes. BTW - no episode this week only (10 September) due to a
music awards show.
Doctor Who is back on een in Belgium today http://www.een.be at 3:05PM Central European Time. Episodes are airing very sporadically - next week it is pre-empted again by sports.
BBC America http://www.bbcamerica.com begins its Series 2 run this Saturday, timed to accompany Torchwood Series 1. Most weeks episodes air at 7PM and 2AM Eastern/4PM and 11PM Pacific - with various repeats. BBC America gives episodes 46 minutes of time to the hour (including closing credits) versus SciFi's 44 minutes including credits. As a result, most of these episodes will either be complete or significantly more complete than when they aired on SciFi from September to December 2006. The one notable exception will be The Christmas Invasion. BBC America will air Christmas Invasion (59 minutes full length) in a regular 1 hour slot, so we can expect about 13 minutes of edits. While I wish they would have given Christmas Invasion an extended timeslot (SciFi managed it), I hope this run goes well for BBC America, especially since most of the episodes will be more complete.
BBC7 http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbc7 will repeat the Big Finish 8th Doctor
audios that have previously run on the digital radio station. 2
episodes weeknights at 6PM and Midnight BST starting this Monday the
10th. BBC7 has previously aired the 2003 Big Finish remake of Shada,
5 4 part stories from the Paul McGann/India Fisher run, and 8 50
minute episodes with Paul McGann and Sheridan Smith early this year.
Hopefully all these episodes will air. And nobody would object to
additional Who audio tales reaching BBC7. BBC7 can be heard live
online through Windows Media Player or Realplayer. Shows can be heard
through the Listen Again page for 7 days using RealPlayer.
Torchwood schedule information is included in the Torchwood This Week
column http://groups.yahoo.com/group/torchwood .
